i already have nero 5 install
and i have the need to use cdrwin4 to burn cue and bin extension
but i heard something that when nero is install, cdrwin won't work is that true
and anybody know a website that give basic on bin. and cue stuff

<< I use Nero to burn Bin/Cue files.

File--->Burn Image--->point to the .cue

and voila, no need for CDRwin
>>

really?
but i heard that only cdrwin can burn .cue
because .cue and .bin is cdrwin format
that is what i heard
so educate me

Problems usually start when people install the parts of Nero, and or EZ ? CD Creator that do Packet Writing to CDRW (InCD, and Direct CD). These programs turn the CDRW to look like a R/W disk drive can cause at times compatibility issues.

As long as you don?t use them, it is pretty safe. The recent versions Nero, CDRwin, and EZ- CD Creator, and others can reside toghether.

OK, I will educate you... 😉

.bin and .cue is not a CDRwin format, so it can be used by other programs. It's a standard format just like iso, in fact the .bin is basically an .iso, so you could even use it without the .cue, which is a small file that points to the .bin (or binary file).

The best program for bin/cue and iso is Fireburner, but I don't recommend it anymore since it seems to have problems in 2K/XP... The newer versions of Nero do a great job with all those formats, so that's what I use now.

You can also open the bin with Isobuster if you want to see (or extract) its content.

What kind of problems does Firebunner have in 2k/XP? I've used it a few times in XP and quite a few times in 2k without a single problem.

For me it would just lock up right before starting to burn, and I couldn't even close it with Task Manager. Had to reboot to get rid of it. From what I read on their forums, I wasn't the only one with problems, so I stopped using it. The older version worked fine though, but didn't support burn-proof. They might've fixed it since, but since Nero does the job, I haven't tried it.
