I recently purchased a Pioneer DVR-710 from Best Buy. The burner itself seems okay, but even though the Best Buy website specifically states that the software includes Nero Showtime, when I attempt to play a DVD with it, it pops a dialog that says that I have to buy an additional plugin for $25.00 to make it work. This seems like false advertising to me, so I Googled for a plugin download, and found:

http://www.soft32.com/Download/Free/Nero_Mega_Plugin_Pack/4-94329-1.html

It says that it provides plugins for the following:

Audio Plugins:
--> AAC/MP4 AudioCoding.com Advanced Audio Coding
--> AAC/MP4 PsyTEL Advanced Audio Coding
--> APE Monkey's Audio Lossless Compression
--> ASF/WMA Microsoft Windows Media Audio 9 Lossy/Lossless
--> FLA (FLAC) Free Lossless Audio Codec
--> PAC (LPAC) Lossless Predictive Audio Compression
--> MP3 Lame MPEG-1 Layer-3
--> MPC MusePack
--> OFR OptimFROG Lossless Audio Coder
--> RM/RA RealNetworks RealMedia/RealAudio
--> SHN SoftSound Shorten Lossless Compression
--> SPX (Speex) Open Source Audio Compression For Speech
--> WV WavPack Hybrid Lossless Compression
--> MP3Pro encoder/decoder

Video Plugins:
--> MPEG-2 SVCD
--> MPEG-2 DVD

The last two appear to be the needed plugins, but whether I install them in the default Ahead folder, or in the Nero folder, they don't permit a DVD to play. Am I doing something wrong, or am I misinterpreting something?

With only 4 people having even read this, I assume that I posted it before anyone got home from work. I'm bumping in hope that someone will read it now.
