Nero says 'Change of write speed due to media'

I have a Plextor 12/10/32S CD-RW (SCSI) and a Seagate Cheetah X15 on an Adaptec 19160. I'm burning an audio cd, pulling wav's/mp3's from the X15. Somewhere around 40-50% of the burning process Nero drops the burn spped from 12X to 10X with a message 'Change of write speed due to media'. I am using certified plus TDK 80 min CD-R's. When writing to disk at 12X I can see that the recorder buffer keeps going down to zero leading me to believe that the X15 is not getting data to the Plextor fast enough. Has anyone seen a problem like this or do you have any info on how I can diagnose any SCSI bandwidth problems?

Solved the problem. Apparently If you use the 1.00b adaptec drivers (the most recent drivers) the adapter incorrectly sets the transfer speed between scsi drives. The solution is to either not use the adaptec drivers or to disable Domain Validation in the adapter BIOS. This is BIG, I'm gonna research it some more and post this issue in the general forums.
