I had no idea that Nero was supposed to recognize them... I've been burning them (overburning, according to Nero) for years now, with no problems. I dunno, as long as you know how much the disk can hold, you can override Nero and burn them perfectly fine. 800mb disks aren't technically following the CD standard, so I guess they cause problems because of that. The tracks are slightly closer together than normal CDs. Anyway, I'd just remember which disks are 800mb, and force Nero to burn them that way.

It came bundled with recorder.
Can I update it? (Do I have a proper license?)

yes just d/load the latest version from nero then run it. nero will sense a previous install & ask you if you want to update!

Could it be that 800MB CD-R's would not work at all in an older CR-RW drives? I have HP CD-Writer 7200+, and it just refuses to work with the 800MB CD's I just bought. It doesn't work in neither W2K nor Linux.

Updated Nero and doing overburn. Everything is fine.
Didn't know that overburning was normal practice, sounded so "dangerous".
Thanks

Yes, you are correct sir! 800meg cdrs may not even work with some current cdrw drives. It has to state that they do support them in order to work.
