Nero has slowed down

Hey guys,

I'm using nero w/ liteon 40x12x48

I just burned a cd about 500 megs and it took around 8 minutes, while it was burning the used read buffer would not fill up entirely and the cache was very rapidly fluctuating between being full to almost empty. I don't remember it doing this before and I swear i burned things much faster, does anyone know wut's going on?
