Nero Hangs on hourglass

Nero 5.0.3.4 works fine but repeated tries to upgrade result in a hang with the hour glass afer clicking the burn tab or the burn button.

Latest try to upgrade was with a new liteon burner using the bundled software. Removed old nero and installed new 5.5.7.2
Again get a hanging hourglass...when click on burn tab or button. Upgraded to 5.5.9.0 and same thing.

Go back to to 5.0.3.4 and no problem.

Even deleted out nero stuff in registry before installing new software...same thing...still hang w/hourglass when click burn tab or burn button.

Is there somewhere in the registry or hidden someplace where the last version is conflicting with the new version?

Are you trying to do a CD-ROM drive to CD-RW drive copy on the fly? If so, change the cd-rom to PIO mode. It solved it for me.

I had that problem before but in this case the program just locks up (hour glass) when you try to burn anything.
Clicking "Burn" tab or the "Burn" button on the tool bar does it.
Never can get to the burn dialog page. Have to control alt delete and end task to get out of it.

I'm pretty sure this has to do with the upgrade from 5.0.3.4 to 5.5.x.x.

I've got a e-mail into nero but no replay as yet...
