Nero FAQ

Does anyone know of a good on-line nero FAQ? The sad little quick ref guide that came with the burner/software package is useless. I've searched Yahoo and Google and can't really find anything good. Ahead has a little guide on their site too, but it isn't much better than what I've got.

My sister wants to compile a cd from several cd sources. She'll put in a disc, drag a few songs over, then switch discs to drag some more. Then she gets an error saying the source is missing (obviously, because she took it out to put in the next disc). I think you have to tell nero the name of each disc that the songs came from so it can ask for them when it starts to burn. I don't use nero for this kind of stuff so I can't help her. 🙁

what you should do is copying which ever songs you want to burn onto the harddrive 1st then do the compilation/burn.. this will simplifies the process..

Indeed. Check the Anandtech FAQ on Mp3 creation to make it even easier if she wants to have a base to make mix quality cds on the fly, too.

She doesn't want to make mp3's. This is for a portable cd player she takes to the gym. So how would she go about this? Just put the cd in the drive and do a copy/paste of each song to a temp directory then drag those songs over in nero? Would that work?

I use EAC with the Lame encorder to extract the songs that I want to a single folder on my hard drive. You can extract them as wave files if you want to burn to disk or as MP3's (Nero will convert these also) for archiving to your computer. Then it is a simple process to burn to disk.

I've made a music CD from multi-CD sources. Nero should ask you to put in the source CD for each song when you are burning. You don't need to put in the names or anything like that. When it says that the song is not there, just insert the next CD
