When nero first starts up it scans the ide and scsi channels. It detects no burners and defaults to its own virtual burner or whatever it is. XP Pro detects the burner as a CD-R/RW. One thing I can think of as a solution (I will be going back to work on it on monday) is to change it to the master on the secondary ide channel. I have had some experiences with burners not working unnless they are the master (a DVD player is the current master). If I cannot fix it (please offer me others suggestions if you can think of any), what other burning software should I try? Just freeware like clonecd? The burner is a CyberDrive 48X16X48.

huh..? It is like this if the version number of your Nero is older 5.5.5.x it will not see the CDRW drive as it is unsupported(update needed) ...also if the version installed is a bundled with a different drive type it won't work either..good luck

How about the ASPI driver stuff? I remembered I had similar problems before (not sure with WinXP or Win2k) and it's a matter of getting the ASPI drivers loaded.
