I presume that I set it the same way ya'll would, so how would that be? I have the nec 3500A. I bought it just a week ago to give an idea of which firmware it's using (though I don't think any new has come out). So anyway where do I set booktype? I can see pre-burn that it's set to DVD+RW and I know that only + can have a booktype set to -rom, but I see no option anyway. thanks!

I'm just guessing, but click on Recorder > Choose Recorder > Options.

I'm not in front of my home PC right now so it's a stab in the dark.

That doesn't quite seem to do it! BTW I have the most recent version of nero 6.1.3.25 or whatever the heck it is.

Setting the book-type through Nero is extremely discouraged. A lot of drives have a built in number of times that you can change the book-type, similar to that of DVD-ROM Region changes. However with most drives, you've got about 244-255 changes, give or take.

Also bitsetting also depends on your DVD-Burner, as not all DVD writers support the feature.
Edit: This can usually be updated through Firmware if you current one doesnt' support it.

Look for a utility called WinBTUtility or something to that extent and set it permanently, and you won't have to worry about losing any changes.

use dvdinfopro or dvdbitsetter. (use the option "set drive for ...., then you dont have to do it for each disk)
Make sure the firmware supports bitsetting.
