From what I've seen, it has a new interface (ooh... ), and something called Nero Scout, which seems to be a music/video search thing.

It sucks hardcore (apparently).

Oh, and they also seem to be trying to make a Media Centre-style interface thing. Which also sucks.

Blah it comes on two cd's and is nearly 1 gigabyte. Nero 7 has become Roxiofied.

Ok so cd 1 is the program and cd 2 is for all the tutorials the install used 241MB which isn't bad considering how many apps it installed.

Personally, I dumped Nero awhile back in favor of CDBurnerXP Pro. Not only is it free, it's not bloatware like Nero.

Does it support DL burning? If not, do you know when?

Oh, OK. To be honest I have no idea. I have yet to even *see* a dual layer DVD-R, heh. Of course, I haven't had an overwhelming need to go looking, either, so...

Not worth the extra cash unless all you're doing is trying to save on physical space (as in, the actual size of the dvd, occupying a certain volume) ...it holds twice the capacity but it's not twice the cost.

4.7 + 3.8 = 8.5 GB

About 8 times the cost of a single layer to get an additional 3.8 gigs not exactly bang for your buck.

I use Nero 6.6.0.13... and I doubt I'll change programs or versions until some technicality forces this program to no longer work. :(

Wow, what crap. Unfortunately, Nero is the kind of program that basically has no future. It was written to burn cd's, and that's it. The developer should leave Nero behind and find another project.

Sure, Alcohol 120% and CDRWIN are good and all for burning IMAGES, but what I need a tool that does everyting else - data cd's, images, DVD Video, etc. Roxio and Nero give me that. I do agree that Roxio has become bloated so I dumped that and use Nero. But it too is heading down a slippery slope. Checked out CDBurnerXP and it seems sort of limited. For one, it can't burn DVD Video, which is funny since a DVD is just two folders, one of which is empty. Not that difficult.

I'm just going to stay with version 6.6.0.16, unless something makes me upgrade. Might have to try out CDBurnerXP though.
