I have nero 6 and can't get a true cd to image copy, I wish to use the drive image so that my kids don't destroy the game cd's
Is there a plugin or something that I can use to get a true image.

I don't wish to buy new software, adds up very quickly and I have nero that come with the drive anyway.

You mean something to break the copy protection on a game? That kind of post is usually frowned upon here since 90% of the people asking want to steal games rather than make legal backups to protect their investment.

search and Google on Daemon Tools.

game copy protection can't be defeated with just Nero. You need a multitude of different programs to defeat them. Look for Alcohol 120% or Daemon Tools, and also look for Clony XXL and BlindWrite.

by the way, i don't condone pirating in any way. i buy all my gamse and software, but i'll be damned if i can't make backup copies and CD images for myself. I use a purchased license of Alcohol 120% for the majority of games. For protections such as SecuROM 5, you'll need BlindWrite to do the RMPS properly. Otherwise you can use that or Daemon Tools to emulate any known protection.

Do these programs have 2 dozen different settings you have to scratch your head over when trying to make a "backup" of your game CDs?

I recall never knowing WHAT to set amongst the myriad of settings for CloneCD.

And then if your copy doesn't work, there are like thousands of different combinations of settings to tweak.

And then when you get a copy that you THINK works, you're never quite sure until you finally play the game all the way through to find out. Which is never good if you are giving your "backup" to a friend so he can keep it safe at a secure location.
