Nero 6 is not diplaying my HP DVD writer (DVD300i)

I can't burn to a DVD from Nero 6. I've downloaded the latest version, but it won't let me pick that in any of the programs within Nero. All I can chose is my CD burner.

Any thoughts?

Let me guess, did that version of Nero come bundled with your DVD burner? It sounds like an OEM version that is tied to a particular mfg. If you purchase a retail/full version, it should work with any drive that it supports. If your drive is newer than the newest release of Nero, then you need to wait for their next release to support it, but that shouldn't be the issue with your particular drive.

So I figured it out (and I'm posting for future reference). I found it on another site when searching google. The drive came with a program from Veritas called DLA which allows you to write to the DVD burner just like a floppy disk or hard drive. All I had to do was remove that program and then Nero listed my DVD burner.

And, BTW, Nero has a similar program called InCD, which does the same thing, so I just installed that and everything works as expected.
