nero 6 & 7 both crash when trying to make an audio cd

When I try to add an mp3 to a cd it crashes back to XP, tried un/re-installing with no luck. Use to work fine. It happens in both 6 and 7.5 or whatever the latest version is. Tried a few other burning programs. Here is what I want

ability to have gapless mixes & audio normalizing. the normalizing is more important then the no pause between track thingy. I don't need anything fancy or anything besides those 2 things. Suggestions for something to use, and if it's free that's all the better...
