Nero 5.5 writing speed question

Hi, I have Nero 5.5 with a Lite-On 48x speed cd-rw drive. The first few times I burned cd's it would burn at 48x then all the sudden it only has up to 24x avfailable in the selection speeds. The media is 48x certified and I have used another one that is 40x certified and the same thing happens. It decides 24x before I even put in the media though. So it either decides on the last piece of media I used or something odd is happening. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Do you have their latest Nero 5.5.10 Upgrade ?

If you do then have you tried reinstalling Nero? Just might work.

You might try disabling the Smart-Burn feature:

Go under Recorder -> Choose Recorder -> Options -> uncheck Smart-Burn

Honestly, I don't think this will make a difference, but it won't hurt to try.
