I'm trying to get the best IQ possible with Nero SVCD plug in... what must I do? Is there someway to increase the size of the video file which I?m copying to save IQ, or does Nero do it on its own?

I find that I'm not using up all of the CD (my sons baseball games), so I was wondering if there was some way to keep IQ by burning larger video files and saving IQ?

Thanks!

each CD should be able to hold ~30 minutes of footage/video...
my SVCD's for the Simpsons come out to between 450-500 mb & that's like 20-22 minutes cuz I cut the commercials out.

I never needed a special SVCD plugin.. upgraded to 5.5 & just burn an SVCD..

Although - I did edit & convert them to SVCD format w/ TMPEnc

MPEG1 OMG fug I hope not!

I'm using my D8 Sony camcorder... I use StudioDV (latest patch) to extract the files, then encode to AVI (must encode to AVI, tried to copy direct to Nero without encoding to AVI but always get an error message)? then take that file and copy it to Nero. Nero will then encode to what I though was (S)VCD, if it?s not doing SVCD but rather VCD then that would explain the poor a** IQ. Though I have always made sure MPEG2 was selected.

If there is someway to make sure I?m encoding to SVCD with Nero please let me know and I will try it today? Btw, my copy of Nero 5.5 came w/ my TDK burner, not sure if that matters?

Thanks!

just do a search on Google, & find TMPEnc...
then open it & open the wizard..

i believe that you need MPEG2 input/capture otherwise how can it increase the image quality?
i know my AIW 7500 captures at MPEG2...
not sure about your dazzle.

in either case - TMPEnc's wizard is simple to use.. Just create an SVCD file & burn in Nero (choose SVCD, add the file) it may ask you to re-encode - but DON'T.
TMPEnc's encoded file is in the right format.

Yeah I've been going there a lot lately. I used TMPGENC last night, and boy does it take forever to encode, or is my system just so damn slow? Took almost 11hours to do a 20min video, something must not be right? I know I chose "highest quality" (slowest), but man that is way too slow.

JoinT,

Are you using your 2.4 Nortwood rig with this program?
