This a DVD-RW recorder ... the Pioneer DVR-A03 (ide)

When I fire up Nero ... it scans the IDE/SCSI chain ... but fails to find
the drive ... its not listed under CD-Recorders ... Instead it has a Image Drive that I can write to.

However, if I run "Nero CD Speed" ... the drive appears in the drop-down box
as a DVR-103 drive and I am able to run write tests on the drive. It works fine.

I have downloaded the latest wnaspi32.dll file from the Nero Site ... but
it still fails to see the drive.

I am able to write to the drive from Adaptec EZ and PrimoDVD without problems.

Thanks.

Nero doesn't support that model yet. Gonna have to wait for the next release. CD Speed will run on any drive, not just those supported by Nero.

Thanks ... but the Nero site lists the DVR-103 as supported (the OEM version of the DVR-A03).

???

Clues ?

Does the drive report itself as an A03 or a 103? Nero has a bad habit of looking at what the drive reports itself as and looking in a table to see if it is one it supports instead of actually trying to see if it can talk to the drive properly.

Well, it sees my DVR-104 just fine. So it should recognize yours. I am guessing that you "upgraded" to the latest Nero. Uninstall it, if so, and reinstall the upgrade only. For some reason upgrading doesn't work, you have to do it fresh.

Otherwise, check for a firmware upgrade if that doesn't work.

5.5.7 works great with my DVR-A03. I tried 5.5.8 and it didn't work at all so I went back to 5.5.7.
