NERO 5.5.5.1 and TDK 16/10/40XA Problem

I have Nero 5.5.5.1 for my TDK 16/10/40XA using Win XP. So far I have never had any burning problems or coaster but I noticed that the CD volume name only allows 16 characters instead of the alowed 32. So now I cannot name it properly. Is this normal, is it something wrond with NERO or the burner itself. Also I do not have the option to test a CD before I burn. Does anybody know if testing is dependant on the drive itself or the burning software?
