I was looking for something unique for my son's 11th birthday a few weeks ago when I stumbled upon the Nerf N-Force Maurader long sword on sale at Amazon. I ordered it along with this cool looking Battle Mace

Well, in short he (and his friends) LOVED them and now medieval Nerf battles have been commonplace at the house. That marauder sword is huge and can wreak some havoc! I would have loved one when I was a kid (Dad can still mix it up in battle though).

I think I may need to get a pair of these Klaw Hatchets to unleash some two-handed action "Jean Tannen" style to avoid getting my butt kicked by that sword!

Anway - a good way to get outside on a nice day and get exercise for my fat middle-age butt and spend quality time with my son. Thanks nerf, for medieval fun!

Take THAT you rapscallion!

I wonder...in 500 years, do you think they will have Nerf Cruise Missiles and Nerf Drones for their "ancient weapon" line of toys?

My kids had that until one of my dogs confiscated it. He would run around the back yard with it in his mouth. It lasted awhile until he chewed it up to a point that not much was left of it.

My son has a couple of that type of sword. Between those and all of his lightsabers we definitely have some good times. It's even better when he takes'em outside, he's got enough to supply all the kids in the culdesac with one and they have some rediculous battles.

My wife got some "foamy but not nerf" swords the other day for the toddler. Besides trying to knock everything off the table or wall, he started taking BITES out of them. Little weirdo lol.

So I IM'd my wife showing her these saying the kid in me wants these. Conversation ensues:
Wife: Oh geez.
Wife: You gotta get them now.
Me: Really?!
Me:
Wife: You're such a huge kid.
Wife: I was being a smartass.
Me: :'(

Well when I sent the links over IM to my wife, her response was pretty much the same as yours for the first two lines... except she wasn't being sarcastic.

I love my wife - she is as big a fantasy/gaming geek and big kid as I am!

Your mistake was not having them in a cart ready to buy then quickly hitting the "complete order" button BEFORE she said she was being a smartass!

To be fair, she clarified afterwards - "Just make sure you arm your son equally well..."

Just use sticks. It will make him tougher.

In a couple more years you can get him real swords. Scars are cool.
