My 8 year old nephew's Gameboy Advance SP stopped working. He said that another kid at school was playing with it and when he asked for it back, the kid said, "Here, it won't work anymore now."

Yes, I know. My response was, why didn't your mother/my sister go over to that boy's parent's house and get him in trouble and possibly fix the gameboy. Then I remembered, this is my sister....

So, when I flip it on, the screen flashes white and the top light on the right (red I think) flashes then they turn off and that's it.

Is there some sort of keypad lock or something? Any help is appreciated.

EDIT:
Okay, it works now... but the screen is fuxor'd.

Maybe that's what he wanted me to fix... he went to a friend's house, so I can't ask him.

No gameboy logo or anything, just streaks of color from top to bottom.

I have it plugged in. I still get the same thing... I guess the battery could have died, but I would expect the life span of the rechargable battery to be more than 8 months.

You got it plugged into the recharger? PM effowe about this, he had a similar problem. I think he just plugged it in to charge and let it sit for about five minutes. Worked fine.

Have you reseated the game cartridge yet? Taken it out, blown inside at the connectors and the game, plugged it back in? Sounds like it got dropped.
