Is that what "Princeton/Columbia" gets you? You're making them look bad.
No wonder the kid has problems, the whole family has anger/lashing out issues from the sound of it.

You might want to back out gracefully now, and avoid more self inflicted embarassment. :(

Fuck you too. Did you even read the whole thread and all the insults that came my way? I don't know who you think I am but I won't let insults go unanswered.

EDIT: I don't know why you feel I'm "making them look bad". The people at these schools are some of the biggest, most arrogant jerks you'll ever meet. If you think I'm bad, try talking to some professors/students:).

After seeing how the OP is talking to everyone, I can see how his little nephew is related.

you people should be thankful the kid's head isn't filled with religious mumbo-jumbo. It could take years to undo that kind of damage.

He got kicked out of school for that? Did the parents or the kid apologize to the teacher?

I don't know where you get the idea that ALL kids that age aren't supposed to question things. I already questioned the tooth fairy and Santa Claus by the age of seven...

Being a voracious reader from an early age trains you to smell BS and call it.

That said, sounds like Dari's nephew needs to learn when to smile and nod to be respectful to his elders even if he disagrees.

Do you have kids?

Wow, Dari, I actually waded through this entire thread and was fairly sympathetic to some of the points you were making, and willing to chalk up some of the pretentious attitude ("I've seen many things in my 10 years but . . .") of the young boy to his tender age, but now you had to go and prove that his Dad IS an over-entitled, yuppie scum ass.

I hope the kid, at least, grows out of it while retaining a healthy but balanced skepticism of received authority.

I hope the father unloads verbally on the wrong person and gets his ass beat, however.

What is the point of the thread anyway? Did you think we would cheer your nephew's indefensible language? Is it anti-religion? Just trolling? Clearly it has nothing to do with whether your nephew "thinks for himself". I hope not, anyway.

Funny how you feel the need to fire back at insults posted in this thread, when clearly you think your nephew was justified for insulting the teacher.

Sadly, you've just proven yourself again. I was perfectly respectable in my post, letting you know how I saw things, and you tell me to "go fuck myself".
You shouldn't let people affect you so much, it's just not mature, and like I said not what I would hope to see from a Princeton/Columbia man.
I can really see the short fuse your family is becoming known for. :(

Hit the nail on the head. It doesn't take a genius to see that him and his brother both probably suffer from the "holier than thou" type attitude where other people's opinions and beliefs don't mean shit. Where a 10 year old doesn't have to respect anyone else if their thoughts don't align with his. Look at what you are writing in this thread, and really think how much your nephew's behavior and views stem from your brother's and your own personal views of the world.

This whole thread is about you trying to validate his behavior, as it is clear that it is EXACTLY how you want him to react. It is pretty obvious to everyone but you that your child is impressionable with either your opinion or your brothers. Doesn't take a Harvard grad to see that.

Again, his parents are decent folks. But the kid has a mind of his own. If you want to fault his parents for everything he knows and says go ahead...

It would appear that they haven't done a great job of passing that decency onto their kid...

Wow what a bunch of winners. The kid and his parents need a good smacking. They need to learn what respect is.

I think he was trying to understand something and the teacher kept telling him stories. His parents are nice people and they make him read a lot. I guess he saw BS and called it for what it was.

I call BS on that. Do you have kids? I know when my son was 10 years old, the teacher could have told him that the sky was red and that peas came from cows and he wouldn't have said a word. Let alone telling the teacher to go fuck himself.

The kid is innocent. His parents or whoever taught him to act like that are douches. End of story.

You don't even know his parents, asshole. Like I said, he's a voracious reader and saw BS and called it. His parents were shocked but I am happy because he has a sharp mind and he won't believe everything you tell him, unlike your kids.

I see where the kid gets his friendly personality.

Being intelligent doesn't give you carte blanche to act like a complete douchebag to anyone you disagree with. Maybe his parents should teach their son how to politely disagree with someone, or, God forbid, actually debate an issue on its merits instead of resorting to ad hominem attacks. If the kid were really smart, he could have prepared a treatise on all the evidence that points to the implausibility of a large body of water actually parting because of some wild gesticulations. Instead, he resorts to "go fuck yourself." I knew a lot of kids who told teachers to go fuck themselves when I was growing up, and none of them were terribly intelligent...

A couple of months ago my nephew got into an argument with his rabbi at their Jewish school. The rabbi was telling him the story of Moses and how he parted the Red Sea so that the Jews could escape from Egypt. Anyways, he told the rabbi "You know, I've been on this earth for ten years and I've never seen anything like this." The rabbi proceeded to tell him how this was an act of G-d, etc... The rabbi may have said some other things. He then told the rabbi to "Go fuck yourself".

That's not a good way to win an argument. I like his mentioning that he's been on the earth 10 years. I'm sure he's seen it all in that amount of time :D

Have you seen a man split the sea? Seen a man walk on water? Seen people lived until they're 934 years old? No? Neither have I.

lol great arguement....i've never seen a 122yr old person, oldest I've ever seen is 88, so does that mean that no one can be over 88yrs old? i've never seen jupiter, does that mean it doesn't exists?

Actually, you were the first one to throw an insult. I did call whoever taught him to hate a douche, but I was assuming that person wasn't you. If you are in fact that douche, then I am sorry...that you are a douche.
