I'm thinking about doing a neon light case mod and I'm wondering how safe it is. Neon lights function by running an electrical current through the gas in the tubing to excite the gas molecules; is that current damaging to the harddrive or does it cause electromagnetic interference with the chipset? Does anybody here have any experience with this type of mod? I'd like to know that it's safe before I perform this very cool case modification. . .;)

I thank you in advance for any light you could shed on the subject:)*holds pinky up to lips in Dr. Evil fashion*.

From everywhere I have looked they run a DC current and are very low power.

Look at this place.....CaseEtc.

If you look on page two of this guide, it says they are only 3 watt items @ 12volts, so its only .25amps......
