Neon Genesis: The Movie?

I saw it without having seen the series and didn't understand what the heck was going on.

I had to get the update here in order to make sense of the movie.

It was nonsensical. There were cool parts, but it can't hold a candel to the likes of Akira or Ghost in the Shell, much less Jin-Roh.

I was left with too much a feeling of 'wtf' afterwards. I mean, I wanted some kind of resolution to the whole thing . . . . but THAT?

edit: missed the live action bit.

Hopefully it makes more sense than the animated ones.

This taking into account that the Akira and Ghost In The Shell anime absolutely suck compared to the manga. Damn, that is harsh. 😀

you really have to pay attention to the details to get the scope, the ambition and amazing story telling in this epic. don't bash it just because you couldn't understand it. watching the movie might also help. (it's still confusing, but it does give you a better? ending.) altho i think the movie ending is just one interpertation of the tv ending..

now the important question: who's gonna play Misato and Rei? 😀
hope it turns out good, but i'd rather be plesantly suprised like the first time rather than standing there holding my breath..

Dunno about Rei, but there sure aren't any big-breasted Japanese ladies out there. 😉
