I've been testing out the EFnet server lately and it is a lot faster.
Also, very stable too. :)

The old NeoChat will die soon....

Information on the new IRC server is at www.geek-directory.com

Please give me feedbacks on what you think of the new IRC server and my new website (how fast it is and etc..)

Cheers

Hi guy..the site looks real good..very professional looking and I really like the colours chosen..dark backgrounds look very rich and Navy Blue is my colour of choice. Is your old site still up...I need to find a link that you had posted there...perhaps you could help me out?

Here are several links to EFnet:

irc.efnet.org
irc.west.gblx.net
irc.east.gblx.net
irc.emory.edu
irc.mcs.net

irc.west.gblx.net seem to a good one.

Need more? Go to EFnet.org and click on 'Servers'.

ultravox, I think I know what you're looking for...MSN me at neotechman@techie.com

Phew! It's definitely faster and lag's nowhere to be seen. And you can use mIRC! We need more people in here to really test this thing's endurence though!

hate to say this, but i really would hate for the Undernet room to go, i really like it and it has become a nice home for us AT people. is there a way to let the room stay in undernet, cause more than likely what will happen is that there will now be two chans one in undernet and the other on efnet.

just the dos pesos.

dunno.

window size does not really matter i suppose, but for higher resolutions, like mine, the font is really small.

i dont understand why ppl bother using IRC applets. it is way easier to just learn how to use mIRC or a similar client. its incredibly easy, and allows for heaps more customization.

You're right, Gorgonzola. That is why I post the IRC's address on my website. ;)

It is for you guys who use mIRC.

I had about 10-12 shown up last night and experienced no problem connecting through.

I'm going to adjust the Java Applet so that you can choose several IRC addresses.

/me isn't allowed onto any EFNet servers... :-( He's been banned (for cloning apparently).

/me just realized he was using IRC commands in a post... :)

/me stays on Undernet and won't use a Java applet.

#neochat is still live on Undernet, and right now, there's a few people in there. Those of us who run the day to day administration of the channel don't have any plans to take it down anytime soon, either.

It's also been tweaked and setup properly in the last few months, and the channel itself is stable as hell. Undernet's servers are also quite stable at the moment, and, well, if you don't like the one you're on, just disconnect and join another. It's not hard. You have to do it on every IRC network out there.

#nEoChat at Undernet will stay and it will always be anandtech members's home.

The new one at Geek's Directory will be for the outsiders who are not part of Anandtech.

I may be busy and M who is my cool helper who also admin #nEoChat for me can answer any of your questions. ;)

Cheers.
