Applied a thin haze with plastic bag to bottom of mirror finished zalman 7000-alcu, then followed directions from artic on applying as5 to cpu with integrated heat spreader....my zalman is tight as can be and mounted perfectly - but I am getting readings of 41C in the newest corecenter, speedfan, and everest AT STARTUP! I should also mention I have been running w/o side door on case and the zalman hsf at max rpm (2300).

Run prime95 and cpu temps jump up to 51-52C at full load.....stock settings :(

However, when I touch the zalman, even right at the base I am hardpressed to tell that its even warm! My mosfets are all roomtemp feeling, NB (with AS5 on it) is cool, and system temps are supposedly 21C or lower at startup! Am I wrong or should a cpu really be 20C over roomtemps on a coldboot :p

Question: has anyone figured out how much crack (exactly in degrees C) the neo2 is smokin over actual temps?

A lot. My friend has one and it reports completely different temps each time he boots up. Try a bios update.
