Eh? The last time I checked it, they only had 6-7 major cities. Now almost every road in the whole Greater Cincinnati area: Text

I saw the car driving around my city a few weeks ago, now I'm just waiting for it to update on Google.

No wonder gas prices are on the rise, google cornered the market to drive their cars around.

They must've done some major updating - I checked out the two little podunk towns I grew up in, and both houses are photographed.

(Time to play heavily ignorant...)

Is there some reason why Google wouldn't film the highways as they drive to these cities? The main thing that I could think of would be how fast their camera could take pictures...Am I missing something stupidly obvious? or is it probably just a Google reason?

Why would people want pictures of highways when it's the same for miles and miles.

That's probably the stupidly obvious reason. I'm an idiot.

They just recently got Toledo as well. Although photos are close to a year old from what I've seen, so they've been working on this for quite a while, but have been taking a long time to compile and get everything complete.

They mapped out the streets of Austin all the way out to Marble Falls, yet didn't include several large sections of streets within the city. The adjacent roads don't show any signs of obstruction, so I'm not sure why they skipped them.

I can see my house, but the picture is about 2 years old, because I don't see the deck on my pool.

Holy crap, I hadn't looked at Street View since it first launched with only 4 or 5 major cities. I live about 15 miles south of what I think is somewhere around the 70th largest city in the country, and they not only have most of this city, but they even went far enough south and got my small-ass street as well. They apparently were in my area around this time last year, since they have recently been putting in a sewer system in the neighborhood. They took the pictures after they had already put in the line to my house, but before they put down new seed and straw.
