I will not run it again until they get there servers right, half the time I go to upload I cannot. It's a shame, it's a cool project with a fast client

This sounds very familiar 😀

Seeing as they've had server problems in their history, why the heck did they ADD a new project? they can't even handle the load they already have

That's the same question I have been asking myself (and NEO on their forums)
and to make it even worse, the new client (version 600) crunches about 1/10 the rate
of the previous version (517).

It makes me wonder if they REALLY took the X-box crap out of the version that is
supposed to be RSA576 only.

Which leads to the entirely tangential topic of why would a project wanting legitimacy
even dream of a dubious hacking project....?

anyway, another good lesson in DC suicide..... !

As I understand it, the speed is a result of bad coding in the previous clients. It wasn't generating all the proper randoms, or something like that.

I like this project, but I've about had it with it. I'm tired of not being able to connect. By the time I can it's going to take me forever to send all of this data in :disgust::|

I've taken it off my main machine, to give Folding@Home more CPU time (which is desperately needed right now by the F@H TeAm). The project isn't sounding too good any more, with the questionable legality of the Xbox challenge, and the crappy servers. I guess I'll leave it on the work machine (the one lacking a good internet connection) for a little while longer, but will likely move that machine over to RC5-72 if Neo's problems continue, or if the Moderators tell us they don't approve of the Xbox thing.

heh.. i didnt mind the server problems before.. cuz the client works offline.. but now that the xbox thing is here, i just know that its messin up things
