Nelson vs Harris debate on CSPAN

I guess no one wanted to run against Nelson, kind of sad really.
I either have to vote for her or just not vote for anyone.

Then you are even more misguided than she is. It's possible for Nelson to sober up . . . even GWB gave up the liquor and coke. But Harris will always be a tool.

Florida's Nelson vs Harris race was one of the dumbest things done by the Republicans in an election cycle that is not real short on those kinds of mistakes. Nelson was vulnerable in an increasingly red state...various commentators have quipped that Harris was about the only Republican in Florida who couldn't beat Nelson...so she's clearly the obvious choice for the campaign. It's like the Republicans have stopped listening to Karl Rove and started listening to the Democratic strategists (I'm assuming they have some).

I wonder why Jebb didn't run for the Senate. I would assume he could have waltz in to that job. And it is not like he is going to run for President in 08, what else has he got to do.

They were showing it on MSNBC and I had to ask myself... why?

There are plenty of closer and more interesting races.

So did Harris face Washington DC and salute President Bush in Roman fashion saying "We who are about to die salute you!"?

Well at least the Republicans pay their debts. Harris delivered Florida and the Republicans let her run for Senate.

No No No---PELarson,

The repubs were begging Harris not to run for senate---but she did anyway---and won the primary---now the Repubs are stuck with the bitch. But it does show---there is no
honor among thieves.

But I already have my stock of beer for election night----I will drink a victory beer when I hear that Harris lost big time---and I have another beer with Santorums name on it.
And maybe even some wine for DeWine---hoping election night will go fine.

Don't forget some tea for Talent, ale for Allen, and more beer for Burns.

I'm really going to enjoy watching the bigoted, misogynistic blowhard Santorum go down. I think I'll drink to that too

Seriously, no matter who wins in the rest of the country, Pennsylvania voters are going to be a lot better off without that idiot "representing" them.

I've been wondering that as well. Jeb is actually fairly popular in Florida and comes off as a lot smarter than Dubya, I think he would have been a shoe-in even WITH the family name not exactly being a good point in this election. But maybe he'd rather be the big fish in the little pond rather than part of the vicious fighting that's going to be the next several years on Capitol Hill no matter WHAT the outcome of this election is. Moving from governor to President seems like a no-brainer to me, but going from governor to senator seems a little odd. Especially since senators are LESS likely to win a Presidential race than governors are.

It's a shame I moved away from PA last year. I want to vote against Santorum so badly 🙁

Lets stay on thread----look what happens to Harris's political future when she loses--everyone in the republican party will now hate her because her ego screwed up
any chance they had of getting a senate seat.

We will likely never hear from her again---and she will just get older and uglier---but will still claim bragging rights to being a footnote in a history book.

Well this is just odd. I switched over to the other CSPAN channel to watch the Idaho 1st district debate. The format was such that it did not allow opening statements from the candidate. So it starts out with an AP reporter asking a question of the Republican. The Republican guy completely ignores the question and starts to give an opening statement. You know, where he's like, "today I'm going to show you why my opponent..." Anyways, after like 30 seconds the moderator directed him to answer the question and repeated that he wasn't allowed to give an opening statement. Yet he kept going and continued on with an opening statement. The moderator interrupted again, and he acted a little confused and then tried to answer the question. Pretty bad way to start a debate.

Actually her comment was that "God chooses our leaders", and from the looks of things, God is choosing Nelson 😀
