Ever had a neighbor that drove you crazy or just seemed insane? Share your TRUE stories here. I've had a few winners for neighbors BUT one family REALLY takes the proverbial cake. The story begins ...
It was a dark and stormy night and my neighbors (of 7 years) were moving out of their house, without saying goodbye! Later that week I found out why they had made a quick exit from the scene ... they had sold (given away) their house to a rather unusual family and were too ashamed (or scared) to face us. We welcomed the new neighbors to the neighborhood and everything seemed fine ... until
Until my wife and the neighbor wife had a falling out. Additionally, they subject neighbors were also friends with the neighbors on the other side of my place (oh joy!). For some bizare reason they could not understand why I had a prob with them walking through my yard (to get from house-to-house) instead of using the side walk. They killed the grass and I had to re-sod, only for them to try it again.
One night I was just laying down to go to sleep when the dogs started barking. You see, the neighbors had three (3) dogs and they decided to go out of town for a few days and leave them on their balcony to "do their thing" which included barking all night and crapping. The police were called but nothing could be done because they were not home. After losing three nights sleep the police got involved again and the dogs miraculously diappeared.
One day I was reading the paper and I was shocked to see my neighbors face in the paper! He had had an affair with an underage girl and got her pregnant! His boss (the county sheriff) was not happy with this and proceeded to chastise him (by arresting him).
After this things at the homestead got steadily worse. One day the wife/kids decided to "clean" the garage by dumping 4 cubic yards of trash/debris and an old matress/box spring in between our homes (oh joy!). Most of the trash was gone within a month except for the matress. Imagine my surprise (not) when I returned one afternoon (from work) to find the neighbor kids (AKA devil children) jumping up-and-down gleefully on the matress. They had pulled the matress into my front yard, wet it with a hose and proceeded to jump on the black, mold infested matress. Boy, was I happy for them.
Thankfully, there is a God and he blessed me one day (about 3 years after the hell family had moved in) I discovered that our lovely neighbors had mysteriously disappeared. I found out later that they had abandoned the house because of mounting debt and an inability to pay the mortgage and take care of their dump.
The house is still there and another family has moved in.
