yet they fail to acknowledge the following things

1. try to maintain a household on one teachers salary while paying mortgages and student loan debt
2. making frivolous purchases such as world trips on home equity loans during the "boom" housing times.
3. deciding to have a child while already living paycheck to paycheck
4. Deciding to forgo solid insurance through an employer and getting "disaster" only medical insurance from a private insurer.

I don't fucking understand people, so sad to see someone do this to themselves, but they just don't get it.

Who in their right mind would have a kid when you can barely survive as it is?

I would ask many other questions before asking why they had a child. Are you generally against having children?

yeah, never have them if

#1 you suck as a parent
#2 cannot financially raise them
#3 hate children
#4 have horrible genes

ive been shocked at the number of people who did this. one of my parents neighbors of 10 years did a variable rate refi "loan" off their equity when values went... half a year of living fat and 1 disney world trip later rates go up, they cant afford the payments anymore and they lost it.

Huh?

#1 Everyone sucks as a parent at some point in time
#2 What does that mean? They are starving?
#3 Yes, if you hate children, having them is probably a bad idea.
#4 Who decides who has the proper genes to have children?

The comment about this couple having children is plain strange. Do you have evidence that they are not taking care of their child properly.

I don't find it strange at all. If you're living paycheck-to-paycheck, you shouldn't invite the huge expense that a child is unless you have a plan to reduce your other expenses.

There's no such thing as a foreign car; they're all foreign. Sometimes buying a foreign name helps Americans more than buying domestic does.

Choosing to have children is the single most selfish decision most people ever make in the course of their entire lives. Ball's in your court mate.

Whatever. Why is my iPhone made in china employing 170,000 foxconn workers instead of Detroit where people are warehoused on welfare. I pay twice.

I guess they'll have to scale back their lifestyle.

Aren't most Americans living paycheck to paycheck?

So virtually no one should have children?

People had children when things were far worse than they were today and they managed somehow.

Because people are greedy. Corporations sell out the population for profits, and consumers sell out their neighbors for cheap products.

I honestly don't see the connection.

Do you think the baby knows any better if he's living in a house or an apartment or if the house is rented or owned?

How can you not see the connection? Here's my thinking: sure the baby has no idea whether or not it's in an apartment or house. However, if you're in the middle of being foreclosure, odds are you don't have a lot of money. Now, you go out and try and find a 2 bedroom apartment with no deposit and is alright with taking an IOU for the first months rent. Not very likely, right?

On top of that, you'll have to pay the expenses that come along with moving and having just done so myself for the 6th time in 7 years, I can tell you it isn't cheap.

See it now?

Ask the politicos and the corporate mafia, I guess.

We've been sold down the river.

We need people to have kids, who else is going to pay the debt that the government is racking up?

He didn't say when they had the child.

They're not destitute, they have an income. They just have to correct their course and live within their means.

The child is superfluous to this story.

because you won't pay $799 for an american made iPhone

(Apple also employs thousands of support staff in CA)

((support meaning white collar jobs paying shitloads of money))

Can you read? If they have a plan to reduce expenses and make it work, then fine. Clearly if they are being foreclosed on, they didn't have a plan or their plan failed miserably.

Shoulda sold the kid for medical experiments and kept the house.
