The leaves are from your tree so I see the dealership's point but I myself would not blow the leaves back on your property. If the trees do not hang over the dealership's property then they could claim that because you do not bag up your leaves often enough they get blown around by the wind and eventually end up on their property. I am not saying this is the case, but it is a possible scenario, and I once again could see their point.

If you don't want them blowing your leaves back then maybe you should erect a wooden privacy fence as they will not be blowing any leaves through a solid fence.....then again, if the leaves are truly being blown onto their property from yours the fence would likely solve the problem for the both of you.

I say stand out there with your own leaf blower and blow the leaves back to the dealership as the employee blows them into your yard.

There is no doubt a lot of the leaves are coming from my trees. There are two trees in my yard that would pose a problem. However, there are hundreds of trees around his entire lot, and they are all getting blown into mine & the neighbor's yards.

I have asked him if he would mind if I butt up next to his fence w/ a privacy fence, and he said if I did he would fight it in court (this was about a year ago, before the leaf problem).

In response to a previous post, I watched them for about an hour yesterday evening blowing the leaves under the fence. It seemed to me they were actually expending more effort/time doing this as opposed to bagging them. It is one of his employees.

I think maybe I will just clean up the leaves. Meanwhile I'll call the township and see whose responsibility it is, and if he does it again I'll make a complaint.

set up a sprinkler in the area and when they come to blow the leaves, soak em.

I second the birdfeeder idea.

Get lots of them. Use a special feed that makes them drop crazy turds. Fill them up regularly. Have a dozen of them around the property line near their lot.

You might take a couple hits on your own car, but if you can distance it right you might come away with not too much. Anyways, its worth it just to see how much bird sh!t they have to clean :p

Since it's a Ford dealer, contact the local Dodge dealer and offer to let them put up a billboard on your property facing the offending Ford store...

Look, any judge in the land will side with you. If the leaves are on your property then they are yours to dispose of with out any regard as to their origin.

Cities love to hand out tickets for this stuff because they're usually high ticket items. Littering/illegal dumping=$500+

Call the cops.

I'm pretty sure trees aren't able to litter, I've never seen anyone been charged with littering for leaves falling from a tree. However blowing trash into someones yard is littering.

Just put up a fence that leaves can't be blown through. I'm sure a car dealership isn't that great a view, anyway.

Screw the dealership thinking they can fight you in court for putting up a privacy fence ON YOUR PROPERTY. They have no case. Erect away and screw the guy.

Why don't you just put up a huge sign in your yard saying something bad about the car dealership, and then tell them you won't take it down until they quit blowing trash into your yard.

Is this your opinion or a law? If it's your opinion, please stfu and go away. We have enough teeny boppers who pretend they know what they are talking about. We don't need a bald, old man to help them out.
If it's a law, please link us to it and I will apologize.
At any rate, I think the OP is looking for a definitive answer, not conjecture.

hold on got some questions.

are the leaves falling in your yard then the wind blowing them into the lot? or they over his property and falling in his yard? if they are falling in your yard and blowing in his then i can see his point. stop being so damn lazy and get out and get them baged before they go in others people yards.

either way i would build a solid fence.

well actually i think he is party right.

since (from what i understand) they are falling on his property. then blowing through the fence onto the property of the dealership.

Why does he not just get out and bag them? seems disreptful and i can not fault the dealership on it.

i seem seeing something in the paper where something like this was going on. the guy who was getting leaves blown in from the naighbor's tree would sue every year for clean up cost and win.
