If he continues to litter on your property, inform him you'll take action against such activity.
FTW.

Put up your own fence that they can't blow the leaves through. Then sell ad space on it to another dealership.

ok i dont get this arguement. at what point do the leaves dont become your leaves? the next house over, or the next one, or even the next one?

I ll tell ya, i got two silve maples and the leaves are big enough to fall pretty much in my yard. however my yard is filled with leaves from all the other trees in the neighborhood. so if i find a leaf from a honey locus tree in my yard and i know that jim up the street is the only one with a honey locus tree do i march up there pound on his door and demand that he grab a rake and clean my yard? what if one of my silver maple leaves winds up in some guys yard 3 blocks over? is it my problem?

so tell me where is the line drawn??

Yeah, 1st: the leaves can be from any tree, perhaps only some are your, 2nd its quite likely the leaves belong to whomever's property they fall on. Check with local authorities etc.

I say they may be his, if they fell on his property because a neighbors tree fell on my property during the big hurricanes a couple of years ago. One of them fell on my fence causing damage. I found out that it was MY problem, not his. The tree "belongs" to whomever property it falls on. My insurance company said I had to pay, not him. Get this, when I asked what the h3ll I was supposed to about it - they told I'd get to keep the tree because it fell on my yard, not his????

If his tree falling on my yard was now my tree and my problem, perhaps the same thing with the leaves.

In retaliation, roll your sh!t into balls and launch them over into his lot using a mini catapult. Hopefully they will land on some of the cars.

I dunno....somethign about that doesn't seem right at all. I would think legally it's still your neighbor's tree.

If you are going to blow them back, mix some dry manure in with the leaves first. It'll coat the cars and leave a nice smell on the lot.

If there is still a bunch of trash coming over with the leaf blowing I would document it each time. Do this for several weeks and then file a complaint for literring on your property.

Is this a chainlink fence? Put up some plywood so the leaves dont get through.

Tell that dealer to PAY you in order for you to cut down the trees. If he cant, then tell him to STOP blowing the leaves back on your property or you will be taking action.

Also, tell him to get permission from the CITY first (if trees are on the pavement near your house).

Yeah, I know. But I spent hours on the phone confirming it with different agents. I just couldn't belive it. Still having probs with it now (however, I bitched so much they - the insurance company- threw in some extra money for it anyway).

BTW: Property laws are state-by-state. So you gotta check with your state.

And make sure to paint it in extremely obnoxious colors.... pea green with mauve highlights and purple spackles.

I like the idea of selling advertising space... that might actually work!

Also, if they take down the plywood you can get them for vandalism.

You may or may not have a leg to stand on in regards to the leaves, but you CAN go after them for blowing THEIR trash into your yard.

why dont you call the police?

if they are blowing trash into your yard I believe that warrants a visit from the police.

I agree with the plywood. Also, before you put the plywood up, I would collect all the trash that is being blown into your yard and continuously dump it in front of his front door on a weekly basis for a while first.

I would check with your local authorities to find out who is responsible for the leaves. I am guessing that they are responsible.

If they keep it up, start overfeeding the birds around your area so they have more mess to clean up.

Better yet, start a pigeon farm in your backyard. :Q

Blowing them on someone elses property is just making more work for yourself.

1) Winter weather tends to be windy.. The leaves will eventually just end up back on the originating property at some fvcking point

2) Just bag the damn leaves up and be done with it!

I would seriously bag all of "his" leaves up and dump them in the beds of a few F150's. Do not dump the bags.. dump the actual leaves in the truck beds. :)
And then leave this note:

"We can play this game all winter. I have plenty of time on my hands, asshole!"
I like this idea best. :D

If he is blowing your leaves back on your yard, then it sounds like to me, it's your problem.

Put another fence up or something on the fence to keep the leaves from coming through. ;)
