I live in a nice area with lots of young families, houses range $700k-1M.

One person at the end of my court (5-6 houses down the street) has a son that is maybe 20. He is a typical wigger wannabe thug. He has a friend with a beat up muscle car that sounds like it has no muffler, it is louder than 3 Harleys.

Last night this guy revs his engine waking up the neighborhood at 10pm driving down to the end of the court (in front of my house), revs his engine some more and then screeches off at probably 60 mph.

Who do I call the cops on? The guy is gone, but I know where he was hanging out. Do I wait for the friend to come back and send the police to the house or call the police now and send them to the neighbors house? I have two small kids and don't need the aggravation of some punk and his car. I'm sue if the cops inspected his car it's not street legal, but do cops care about this stuff? It's disturbing the peace, but if they drive away what can I do after the fact?

Thanks.

I was thinking about just ramming his car and then saying a cat make me swerve. I'm sure it would total his junker and I'm insured :)

I would just go talk to the kid's father, and explain the situation.

If they aren't reasonable, then think about other options. But at least talk to the guy first man, jeez.

It looks like a single working mother and her son. By the looks of the kids friends I'm not sure being polite will do any good other than make me a target. I've susected the kid of being a small time drug dealer for years now. People drive up, jump out of the car and go to the door and them get back in the car and leave. This happens too much for my taste.

A single mother and her son in a $700,000 + house? Is she hot? if so, bang her, become the kids step dad, beat him and tell him he can't hang out with those losers anymore. There's your answer.

not too sure if the cops will help you out, its not that much of a nuisance . but if the whole neighborhood called the police station and complains it would be looked into i think.

ignore it and it will go away?

if you report him things could escalate.

ask yourself, is it really that bad?

Get proof, video cam, pics, whatever, and then go to the cops. I wouldn't mess with little wannabe/drug dealers - in my experience those are the ones that are quick to violence...they're not as smooth or business-like like their older/experienced counterparts. The young ones act like they have to prove toughness and attitude, and that's trouble if you put your face to their misfortune. Especially if you have young kids to care for....

You sure do watch what happens on your street a lot. You'd rather go ahead and do something rash rather than just find your balls and actually talk to him or even just the homeowner?

Nice.

Don't egg his car.

But seriously, go talk to the parent. Do people not know their neighbors anymore? When I moved into my house they all came by to introduce themselves within a week.

That's a good point. My first impression was safety, as this sort of thing happened a lot in my last neighborhood. I even had my 8 yr old (at the time) tell me the neighbors behind us were doing drugs in their backyard. Sure enough, nose candy. And their kids were playing in the backyard with them.

But it would probably be best to talk to the parent first - never know, you might get some insight to their lives, and find out the kid is just an eBay/CL freak selling stuff....:Q
