Why would you have to pay for trash service? Isn't that what taxes are for? Regardless, that's not right what he's doing. He could at least haul it to the dump. Now would be hard as those bags are probably all leaky and gross, but had they done it from the get go it would not be the end of the world. If they have a truck, then they really has no excuse.

That said, pour a bit of gas on it at night and light it on fire.

Makes me realize how good I have it. One neighbor is an old guy who is hardly ever there, the back neighbors are active and always in the back yard doing stuff, but nothing out of the norm, and he told me he's building a fence next year so we'll both have our privacy, and the other side neighbors are quiet too. They have the occasional party but it's over by midnight, and they're not really that loud even when they do have one.

Please consider reporting your scum-of-the-Earth neighbors. Their unsanitary lifestyle could have effects on you, your family and the rest of the neighborhood.

I'm baffled by your statement. Is it your contention that the fellow has the right to have a garbage dump in his back yard? Or that's it's somehow wrong to ask that it be removed?

Soak the pile in diesel if no one comes. It won't get rid of it, but it'll keep bugs/vermin down. They may also get tired of smelling diesel, and move the pile.

maybe becuase his town and my town does not tax on trash pickup. many small towns contract out to a private trash collection company and the residents pay the company per quarter. ours is like 30 bucks or something per quarter.

Mine was $28 per month. Now I live in an HOA community, and the $168 quarterly fee covers it.

Guess I take it for granted that ours is free then. They even recently revamped the whole system. They dropped two big bins off at every single house. One for recycling and one for garbage. Both are now picked up weekly (before recycling was only every 2 weeks) and they accept way more stuff for recycling now. Before it was just #1 and #2 plastic, for example. They have these new garbage trucks with robot arms that pick up the bins. Never realized garbage pickup could be that high tech.

It's not free, you pay for it in a tax somewhere. Some places simply give you the option of do it yourself or have someone pick it up. Some cities don't want to bother with it, easier to just contract it out (might even be cheaper that way), and others (generally large cities) take care of it themselves.

So apparently they also do not have any type of utility service. Which means no electricity or water. I don't know how you could survive without water service. I suppose it's possible that they could have some type of well, but all of the other homes in the neighborhood are connected to city water. They are the only house on the street with no record of service on the utility website.

They don't have any vehicles and I always see them walking back and forth to the convenience store at the end of the road. My wife thinks they might be squatters but I don't know. According to public records the house was last sold in 1984 to a guy with a PO Box number as his address and I don't think he is getting homestead exemption. I don't know what the hell is going on but now I'm worried. These people could be dangerous so I'm definitely not confronting them.

I submitted an anonymous ticket on the county website regarding the garbage in the yard. I've got a reference number so I can check for updates on their website. They just updated it today with the comment "address never had a garbage service account" and the case was forwarded to code enforcement.
