nehalem compared to p4

I have a question, does nehalem bring intel back to the net burst days? And does anyone know the release date for nehalem?

I think it's out on November 17th, aka very soon. Nehalem is quite unrelated to Netburst, the biggest difference being the low, low [relatively] power consumption of Nehalem.

I thought that because Anand was complaining about power usage and I think he complained about heat to.

brings back hyperthreadding.

Not netburst, unless im wrong and those mean the same thing.

But bascially the old p4's would split load on 1 core and make windows think its 2.

This is the term 1 physical core, 2 virtual cores.

On Neha, its 4 physical cres and 8 virtual cores.

Why it failed on P4, i heard you needed greater then 4ghz to start seeing benifits. Neha would be clocked around 7ghz p4, no joke, and possibly higher on 1 core.

So it works really well on neha. :]
