negative pressure in case

how does having more negative pressure affect cooling? ie. i have more exhaust fans than fans blowing in. i'm trying whether i should spend another $18 on a 12cm panaflo.

If you have negative pressure in your case, it's gonna draw in air, and therefore dust, through your floppy and CDR drives as well as through the vents where you don't have any filters set up, so it's better to have slightly positive pressure.

drawing more air in would increase performance better... by drawing air out faster than your intake, your just wasting all the air your inserting...

for me, drawing slightly more air in is a lot better for both my case temp and cpu temps.

I agree with Mikewarrior; SLIGHTLY more in than out. When my 2 120mm intake fans are running full-tilt (rheostat cranked up) and I eject a CD, the CD flies across the room like a frisbee! LOL

yeah BLoop I think that my CDRW killer the dam dust. I might just get a stock case. hell with all this fan crap. its not worth killing all my drives (DVD CDRW) Filters dont work 100% anyway they do matbe 65% +they kill the CFM's

I dont think it matter much because the pressure difference is very very small thats negligible.

Front 80mms in, the 92mm in the case directs the air from those guys toward the cpu. The side 120mm is a out. The back 92mm is out. I now have an Enermax 330W in there(with a 92mm exhaust fan directly next to the cpu). And teh top 92mm is out.

If you have fans blowing in only, what you'll have is air exiting your case through any crevice, vent, etc.. If you have fans blowing out only, you'll be sucking air through the vents, slits, etc.. The principle works both ways since there is no build up or loss of air inside your case (otherwise it would eventually explode or implode).

It's all about directing the air flow.
