I ordered an A64 3000+ Winchester, a DFI Ultra-D, and a Logitech MX1000 on Wed night 4/20. I emailed them on the 21st saying I wanted the parts to ship unassembled and I received an email confirming my request.

Parts didn't ship out on Friday 4/22, so I check on their website and all parts showed to be in stock. So I waited Monday, still didn't ship. Today, still didn't ship. Called them and they said they oversold the chip!

I know the Venice core is on backorder, so I told him I ordered the WINCHESTER core and he said they did oversell that item. I asked him why they never contacted me about this, it wasn't even reflected on my order status. I said if I had known there was lead time on the parts, I would have cancelled my order.

He said parts will come in tonight and should ship out tomorrow. I had to ask them to expedite the shipment - which IMO, they should have offered me because showing a part in stock and not notifying the customer is their internal error.

Hopefully it ships tomorrow and gets here (CA) by Friday since they upgraded me to FedEx 2-Day.

I ordered parts from ATI (shipped from TX), NewEgg (shipped from NJ), and eWiz after putting in the Monarch order and I've already received all parts:

TT Case
Seasonic S12-430
Seagate 160Gb SATA
NEC 3520a
Retail ATI X800 XL
Corsair VS 2x512Mb

I should have just purchased from NewEgg, but the FarCry, HL2, and Napster promo from Monarch seemed to good to pass up.

Does Monarch usually lag and not keep the customer up to date like this?

He is referring to Monarch Computers.

As for them, I'm not sure. However, I ordered some items from zipzoomfly.com on the 21st and 24th, and both are "Packed", yet neither have shipped. They surely charged my bank account quickly, but have been slow to deliver so far. I guess we'll see... but since I don't even have a tracking number for the 21st order (2gb of Corsair memory... not even a big package) I doubt it will be fast.

Seriously, my card was charged Thurs morning 4/21. Credit card/addresses cleared, parts are in stock, no need for assembly/testing - shouldn't take more than 3 days to ship.

ZZF is usually good about shipping the day after your card is charged. Maybe they're going to ship your 21st parts w/ the ones you ordered on Sunday.

It happens with every retailer. At least with Monarch, Newegg, and ZZF it doesn't happen very often.

The only problem I have ever had with Monarch is that they ship in a way that requires my signature. So I can't have it shipped to my appartment office. I have to go to FedEx and pick up my package.

But thats not really a bad thing.

If it ever happens with Newegg it is very rare, their online inventory status is much much more accurate than Monarch and ZZF.

Advanced Search > "Monarch" of this forum before ordering would have told you this is a fairly common complaint for Monarch. They have advantages over newegg (offering assembly services, sometimes lower prices) but inaccurate stock information (and silent backordering) is definitely one of Monarch's failings.
