Ah! Some bastard just ruined my perfect ebay rating. I won an auction for 3 grams of arctic silver III on june 25th and still haven't received it. I tried sending emails but no responses. I might have been a little impatient but how long does it take to ship that out?? Anyways, is there any way I can get ebay to remove that?

Only way ebay will remove it is if you pay $20 and the other person agrees to remove it.

So now you have to wonder how much a perfect rating is worth. Just leave a comment and if you have enough good feedback it shouldn't be an issue.

It won't hurt you. I have a couple of negatives that came from retaliation. Nothing to worry about, especially if you have enough other positives to offset the negative.

I'm guessing because of too many emails?
Not a good reason though, especially if seller isn't responding or sending the item.

Hopefully either A. you have enough positives that it won't matter (when buying i usualy consider a certain amount of negatives normal for people who sell alot) or more likely in your case B. few enough feedbacks that you can find the negative in the list and read the comments about it.

The new thing where it lists the percent of positive feedback you have is nice, i just wish you could filter all the positives out and just read the negatives, when someone has 1000 feedback its hard to find them.

Does anyone see a problem with quoting your negative in your next sale? Like at the top so anyone looking can read how it wasn't your fault?

I did leave him a negative comment yesterday but i feel i'm justified in doing so. When I sell something I dont take more than 3 days to ship it out after receiving the payment.

you know it is summer and he just might be on vacation..... or been really busy. If I get anything off ebay I wait at least a week before I would consider giving him a negative. You have to realize that on ebay your not gonna get next day shipping. And most people only go mail stuff off one day a week.

The rating system they have sucks.

Some guy won an auction I had and its been about 3 months of excuses.
I checked his feedback and with a total of 7 hes got 1 neg and one neutral...and he left the same for the other people,
but he's the jacka$$ who bids on stuff and doesnt pay.
So if I leave him a neg, I would get the same from him for sure.

EgAy sucxors!!

Yep. Not to mention if you sell something you have to take responsibility for shipping it out within a reasonable amount of time. If you're going on vacation why the hell are you selling stuff on eBay? Totally irresponsible.

oh man, he had to nerve to follow up to my response to his negative comment saying confirmation states that I received the item.

Complaint : Impatient & rude buyer left me an untrue negative feedback! Abusing the system!
Response by lazybum550 - untrue? how long does it take to send out 3 grams of arctic silver?
Follow-up by visionsoftheuniverse - Not long -- especially when confirmation shows you've already received the item.

I also question why he has his rating as private. What does he ahve to hide now? He didn't have it as private when I won the auction but changed it afterwards

My bad didnt see the date.... I jsut saw in one of his other posts the 3 day thing and assumed only 3 days had passed since he sent money. If you have waited this long he def deserved negative. dont worry about 1 neg unless you only have 1 positive... But if youve got over 90% positive youll be fine.

IMO, negative feedback for a buyer means almost nothing. You can still bid on stuff. Most of the time, if it is just a few (-)s than the seller won't cancel your bid. With BuyItNow, you cannot stop someone with negatives from purchasing so even if you lots of negatives, you can still BIN. So, if you are mostly a buyer, it doesn't matter. It's just a psychological issue with receiving a negative feedback. As often if you bid late enough, the seller has no chance/choice to reject your bid.
As a seller, negatives are a hinderance. Your feedback is there for buyers to evaluate. Many negatives will lead to some buyers clicking the back button. I think that there are some people that won't care about the hundreds of good feedback. They won't even read those. They might fixate on the few/one negative feedback and question you on that.
So a long answer to your post, if you are mostly a buyer, don't sweat it. Just calmly respond to the negative and move on. IF you are a seller mostly, do the same and yeah try to get the neg. removed.

Well, yes, you probably will. People have the same fear when using Heatware. But you can reply to that, on Heat, and on Ebay. You can mention that it's retaliatory, that you left one on a NPB and he left you one afterwards. As a buyer, I always look at the the negatives, and it's pretty obvious when I come accross one on a seller that's in retaliation. I guess the choice is yours though.
