Hello..I just built a new full tower computer with an AMD XP 1700 and ABIT KG7 mobo, 350 W PS. My concern is overheating of the CPU. CPU temps now run 95F-109F and its not summer yet. The heat sink is 1? plus high and the cooling fan for the CPU rotates as apx 5800 RPM and stands over 1 ? H profilewise. During the summer this room that houses the computer will rise as high as 85F. Now the room runs 60-70 F. Will my fan provide adequate cooling to not have the CPU exceed 120F? I am concerned that excess heat will one day lock up, freeze, or make unstable my cherished CPU. Also, I AM NOT OVERCLOCKING THE CPU! The fan and motor is only a 15 dollar fan setup and I do not want to go out and spend 70 for a fan unit if I don?t have to.
Thank you..
