I work for IT doing desktop support and I am in need of good long lasting confortable(sp)
shoes. My dresss atire is casual (button up shirt tucked into slacks or khakis)

When I was a tech and had to crawl under desks and sh!t i used to love skechers. Looked good and took a hell of a beating. Not to mention the price is right. I used to rock a model similar to these.

You'll have a hard time finding any shoes more comfortable or better made...
Certainly not cheap, (You get what ya pay for) nor are they the most stylish & hip, but shoes (especially work shoes) should be about support and comfort, not fashion statements...

Those look very nice I'll have to try those on! Thanks!

I just get Running Shoes from the store. I always get ones that are completely black so they don't stand out. No one notices that they are technically tennis shoes and not nicer. Currently wearing some Reeboks

Ok I'm embarrassed to say but I've been buying my shoes at payless and I am getting what I paid for but at the prices of the shoes you recommend I cannot afford those on my salary. What I am looking for is a step up from what I usualy buy. I want the confort of decent running shows but more elegant to be able to wear at work if that makes sence. I do a lot of walking and grunt work.

Well,
I have a bad back, as well as bad hips, so good, comfortable shoes are a must for me.
I go with the Dr. Scholl's brand of shoes. There are several styles (Nothing really flashy) that fit a wide range of activities.
I wear a pair that resemble Work Boots (Heavy duty tread & thick soles) at work, but a somewhat more plain, dressy type for casual wear.
I usually get about a years worth of wear from my work shoes, more for casuals.
And you can't beat the price: $30-$40 pair!

rockports are nice and some skechers are nice also. I stick between those two and sometimes there are decent guy shoes at DSW.

I wore THESE for most of my 30+ years in construction.
DEFINITELY not cheap, but they ARE the best you can buy. By comparison, Red Wings are Payless brand boots...
2 things you should never scrimp on...your work shoes, and your mattress.
You spend too much time in one, and not enough time in the other...
