Hi All,
I'd appreciate some help here.

I'm currently using a 21.5" 1920x1080 display. I bought it to use with my laptop in extended mode, but now I have a PC, so this is the only display I have.

I find its good for movies etc. but opening multiple windows is kind of tricky because websites typically take up 2/3rds of the screen, that leaves 1/3rd of the screen for another window.

So I'm considering a 27 inch 2560x1440 IPS panel. I'll do some programming (maybe refer to a book as well), gaming (mostly sim racing), and hd movies, along with regular office/internet use.

I'm primarily attracted towards the higher PPI and higher number of lines.

Another way would be to get a 21.5" display like the one I have, side-by-side, but then some say it will become too wide, which would happen regardless of 27" + 21.5", or 2 x 21.5"

So I need your experiences with such a setup, and suggestions.

Thanks!

MAKE SURE that Dell doesn't have too grainy an antiglare coating. It matters the most for text, which is what you will use it for.

Thanks for the replies.
I'm also considering the Asus PB278Q, it has a response time of 5ms.

Where are you from? Microcenter nearby? For $399, this 27" IPS 2560x1440 can't be beat.

Hey, I'm staying in Singapore, so no Microcenter here.

The Asus is not available either. Samsung only has the 27B970D which is 1k+.

So that leaves the Dell U2711 (849 SGD) or U2713HM (799 SGD).

Now I'm wondering should I even get a 27", given the limitations in choice.
