Needs 19" Trinitron FLAT Monitor

I, just like you, buy nothing but Sony FD Trinitron monitors. Then I got a flatscreen 😛

There are a few things I would try.

1) Office Depot has the discontinued KDS FD Trinitron monitors, the AV-195TF or something for $174.88, if you can find one. I'm not at work right now so I can't see what stores still had them, but my store had a few until I started telling people, then they sold like hotcakes. (The 17" was only $115). Who cares if it's discontinued, the KDSs still have an excellent 3-yr warranty. If you opt for the extended warranty, they'll just cut you a check if the monitor breaks...no questions asked.

2) Try maybe a CTX FD Trinitron monitor. They also have an excellent 3-yr warranty, which I unfortunately had to use on a 17". After sending the 17" in b/c it wouldn't cut on, they sent me a 19" as a replacement! 🙂

3) Wait for Dell to have 20% off and get one of their monitors

4) There's always e Bay.

I got the Dell P992 for $318 shipped during the last 20% off deal. Great monitor, great price. It does 1600 x 1200 @ 85 Hz and is an FD Trinitron-based monitor. The only con is, Dell is too freaking cheap to put a ferrite kit on the monitor cable, so I suggest you do what I did and add one yourself.

Garrulous, I had a 2-page list consisting of every CRT monitor that didn't have a Trinitron tube, but my god damned Explorer had to hang (running 98SE right now). Basically, less than 50% of all monitors on the market right now have FD Trinitron tubes.
