What would you guys recommend (Newegg, preferably) as the absolute cheapest Core 2 setup I could get that would overclock to at least 2.6 ghz (or higher)? My brother wants to upgrade his Athlon 1800+ (yeah, I know!) so I was thinking of selling him my DFI Lanparty, 939 3500+ and my 1 gig of Corsair Value Select and upgrading to Core 2. I don't want to spend a ton and was probably going to sell him my three pieces for ~ $200. I'd like to put no more than another $150 ($200 tops) into this new setup.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Core 2 Duo E6300 retail
Gigabyte GA-945P-S3 retail
Wintec 3AMD2800-512M1-R 512MB DDR2-800 retail
$329.69

That's with 512MB RAM, which is very easy to upgrade when you get more cash. Or of course you could just pump in another $50 for the Wintec 3AMD2800-1G1K-R 1GB set right now, bringing you to a hefty $379.69.

I think you're confused Roguestar. The S3 and E6300 is the best choice but the cash restraint on your ram choice might limit your OC ability OP you might wait until you can throw down for some decent ram.
