Needing some Xbox help ASAP...

Need help with this one...

I used the MechAssault save game trick and softmodded my 1.0 Xbox. Worked like a charm. Then for some dumbss reason I unlocked the HDD and now I get the 05 error code. I'm used to having a chip inside and it's easier to fix with a chip; but these softmods... easy to start but a piss off if they go bad.

I cannot boot from any discs... how do I lock my drive again?
HELP!!!

Do you have an Evolution X cd that you can boot off of? I remember I did something similar once and it wouldn't boot off any game disks, but it boot off the Evolution X disk just fine. You should be able to lock the HD again from there.

That was my original train of thought but when you unlock the hard drive, you disable the ability to boot from a Slayers disc... 🙁

Nope... get the 05 error code (cannot lock hard drive error)

I've been reading through Xbox-scene and its looking like the only way around this is to install a mod chip.

UPDATE

I was messing around with the program xboxhdm and found a bootable floppy maker in it that you can lock your HDD with... It asks for your password and it apparently will accept anything as the password.

I hooked it back to the Xbox and now get the error number 06, cannot unlock drive. So am I understanding it correctly in assuming that I need the hard drive password (eprom?) and if so, how do I get it from the backup file on the Xbox HDD?

I feel I'm really close to fixin' this and gettin this dunce cap off my head...
