Hey all.

I know Im a little behind the times here, but I just moved to his board from my Abit NF7-s v2

Ive read the posts about this K8N-E but so far Im not seeing what my problem is.

I cant up my fsb over 226 without the system getting into a reboot loop if I o\c in BIOS.
With Clock Gen I can get to 227 p95 stable. I can take it to 230 but its not stable and anything over 230 is an automatic reboot.

The other thing is the complete lack of unityon what the vcore actually is running at. CPU-Z, Nvidia Monitor and Clock Gen all show 1.525. But Asus Probe and BIOS both show the 1.725 that its actually set at. Which do I beleive?

BIOS version 1006
vcore is at 1.7 although CPU-Z is showing 1.5
mem= 333 or 400 3-3-3-7
FSB 226
HTT x3
AGP 67mhz
cool and quite is disabled

I think thats all the relevant info.

Ive tried upping vdimm but it didnt change anything. Ive realxed the timing- no change.
If I up the HTT multi to x4 I cant get out of BIOS.

Any ideas?
Im runnign 2x 256 Mushkin High Perf Black pc3200. Its older stuff, not sure how high it will actually go. But there wasnt any change in the o/c dropping it back to 333 from 400.

thx in advance

hmm, it sounds like something to do with pci lock. do the pci and agp needles move in clockgen when you change the fsb?

when you say your mem is 333 or 400, what does that mean? leave it on 333, or even 266, and loosen the timings.

i dont know about that board, but like a lot of boards, there are things that arent locked. so if anyone else has the board, they can tell you.

drop the multi to 6 so it doesnt overclock the cpu while you test the fsb. then vcore wont matter.

i dont know about the bios or anything, but is there a newer one that you can flash?

thx for the reply theman.

AGP\PCI lock is on if the AGP frequency is set to 67mhz, which Ive done.
I tried last night to drop the multiplier back but it made no difference in the FSB. Ive left the memory at 333 and loosened the timings, Im actually running pretty loose all the time right now.

Im beginning to wonder if the problem is the voltage is not actually changing in BIOS.
But your right about the voltage not mattering if the multiplier is dropped.

dang
