Hi! My CD ROM is like brand new & been sitting there for 3-4 years. I have a Compaq PC. I had to reload the entire program using a CD Disk after a virus attack. No viruses now, system protected. The CD did work since then, this is just out of the blue thingy. I use start/assec./enter/CD and I get a message, Cannot find mmjblaunch.exe

I was messing in "My Computer" and a window pops up with the go/stop buttons. I press go and the CD runs OK. So, sounds like I need that file (mmjblaunch.exe), and I will also need to know where to put it.

I put that file into a search engine and got several German pages, mentioning MUSICMATCHBOX. I had that on here and removed it. I am using the WIN music program now that has been on the Compaq system, WIN98.

Thanks a lot, & happy New year!! If it is just a file, could you email it to me PLEASE.

Forget about that file. You just need to change the associations for your sound files. There's a couple of ways to do it. You can open up Media Player in Windows and go into options and choose to associate all your music/sound files with it. Or, you can re-associate your music files (look for files with a .cda extension for CD music) by the following: Put a music CD in your CDROM. Open up Windows Explorer.

Within Windows Explorer, view the contents of your CD-ROM drive [right-click 'Explore']
You will see a list of the .CDA files on your audio CD. Right-click on a single CD track and choose 'Open With' then 'Choose Program...'
Click on the program within the scroll box that you want to use to play audio CDs, click the check box labeled 'Always use this program to open these files', and then click [OK] button.
