Hi guys here is my current configuration which is of around 10 years old.

CPU: AMD A10-5800K
Motherboard: ASUS F2A55-M LK2 PLUS
Inbuild GPU: AMD Radeon HD 7660D (As you know my processor is CPU + GPU)
RAM: 8GB DDR3-1600
SSD: 240GB SSD

Monitor: ASUS TUF Gaming VG259 24inch

I don't have a proper dedicated GPU. So I am thinking of updating my components one by one since I have budget constraints. I am planning on buying a decent PC Cabinet, PSU and graphic card

Cabinet
Asus TUF Gaming GT301 - ₹6,600 ($80)

PSU
Asus TUF Gaming 650B 650 Watt 80 Plus Bronze- ₹5,300(~$65)

Cooler Master MWE 650 V2 80 Plus Bronze - ₹5,200(~$63)

Corsair CV650 650 Watt 80 Plus- ₹5,410(~$66)https://mdcomputers.in/cooler-maste...pe-6501-acabw-bin.html?sort=p.price&order=ASC

Graphic Card
Gigabyte RTX 3060 Ti Gaming OC LHR 8GB Gaming Graphics Card - ₹42,300 (~$520)

Kindly suggest which PSU shall I go with as I have planned to buy 3 FAN Nvidia 3060 Ti graphic card. My main purpose is Video editing and occasional gaming(1080p in my 24inch monitor). I want to scrub through 4k/5.6k video smoothly. I don't mind scrubbing the video in 1080p and then render/export it to 4k.

One of my main concern is how much of a bottleneck should I expect since I am using an 10 year old processor and DDR3 RAM. I can't upgrade processor or motherboard at the moment so. My PC is in excellent condition. Any suggestion would be helpful. I have been racking my brain to decide which Cabinet, PSU to go with the graphic card 3060 Ti because of my budget constraint. I won't be updating from 3060 Ti to any other graphics card in near future like for next 6-8years.

In Brief: Needed help with upgrading PSU and graphic card that I can use for next 6-8years. My main purpose is Video editing and occasional gaming(1080p in my 24inch monitor). I want to scrub through 4k/5.6k video smoothly. I don't mind scrubbing the video in 1080p and then render/export it to 4k.

Concern: How much of a bottleneck should I expect since I am using an 10 year old Processor/PC

Add more RAM if you want it to feel faster. If you can bump the clock speed that will help too. The sad thing is DDR3 is more expensive than DDR4 these days. An overhaul of your CPU and mobo might be a better idea but, your budget seems tight. Switching to Intel would cut the costs a bit if you redo the whole system.

For instance the Intel A770 16GB is $350 which saves you $170 to put towards a different CPU and mobo. The prices on ADL parts are down considerably and would give you the time you desire on the system.

@Tech Junky Adding RAM wouldn't render faster or increase scrub speed of 4K video footage so I have decided to upgrade the components one by one. Don't have a dedicated cooler to overclock the CPU :coldsweat:.I am thinking of upgrading the PC component by component so thinking of going with DDR5 RAM. Wouldn't it be a waste If I buy DDR3 RAM for my old PC. I will upgrade Cabinet, PSU and graphic card in first go and upgrade Motherboard, Processor and other component in the next go like after 6months or so. Currently needed suggestion with the PSU and if you have any idea on how much bottleneck it causes because of old CPU and motherboard. As I said even though I have budget constraints I don't want to miss out on any AAA games for at least next 6 years or so. I don't have too much expectation. 1080p gaming with at least around 60fps, 4k video editing - scrub the footage at 1080p so. Can't compromise on GPU. Could you possibly suggest which PSU shall I go with for the upgrade. From the above links.

I haven't used any of these.

I've used EVGA for the last couple of builds and had no issues with them. I would however suggest you put in an 850W instead of the 650W you have listed. It gives you more headroom when adding more components down the line as you upgrade. They also tend to have less issues than lower rated units.

As to the DDR3 / DDR5... it does make more sense to upgrade than to add more DDR3. If you can live with it for the 6 months between upgrades then that's just what you have to do. Personally I would upgrade the foundation CPU/MOBO/RAM first and then the other items. This gets you more performance while using the existing GPU. Or just save a bit longer and do it all at once.

A good reference site though for honest opinions is

Also, besides bumping to a 850W consider the extra funds for a fully modular unit as it makes things easier w/o the extra cables sitting around in the bottom of the case. Another consideration could be ATX3 / V12HPWR options depending on how far you intend to push into the future. PSU's will out last your build projection of 6 years easily. The EVGA's I use have a 10 year warranty on them.
