Trying to help a friend with PC probs - long distance.
He emailed me his diskman screenshot, but it has some wierdness, apparently due to his use of 60GB caching drive with 1TB WDC in SRT mode. I have no SSD, so need some help:

I need a dm screenshot from someone doing same so I can compare with his -
Z68 mobo
Spinner O/S drive
SSD cache drive
Intel SRT mode
Dont care what other drives present, but no single drive SRT
I need screenie big enough to see clearly (I dont care how big), no monster monitor resolutions, uploaded to tinypic.com and need the lowest link on result page. Need full disk manager shot with no browser area, and view/customize/uncheck action pane

thnx in advance

Can you post the screenshot you have ?

It will be late tonight before I could show you a screen shot of my set up.

Just a heads up - Once SRT is enabled, the cache drive disappears from Disk Management if the whole drive is being used for cache.

Otherwise you will have an unused partition of the remaining SSD space..

this dm is unlike anything I have ever seen, and I have seen thousands. He just left for Switzerland on a month vacation

So, in advance, I need to figure out how the SRT affects dm as a first step.

I dont want to get into his issue, I really just want to figure out what this crazy thing reveals. Kinda looks like a 60GB SSD blended somehow into the 1TB WDC

If SRT has been enabled, the SSD will not show up in DM.

If not, it will show up as a physical drive ..

The DM you show looks like Drive 0 is 1TB drive split into several partitions.
Drive 1 ( Movies ) looks to be a 500gb drive .

What does the RST console look like..

The cash can only be applied to one logical drive, and the RST management console will show which drive it is..

well, its a lot more complicated than that
the 1 TB drive has 6 primaries, 2 of which straddled by an extended, embedded with an actual logical, and a piece of the same logicals parent extended is shown as freespace overhang after the two primaries.
So thats 6 primaries. There is a 100MB no letter reserved and a big "C" sys partition, and a tiny primary between those. But 6 Primaries means GPT, but no logicals allowed on GPT disks

The longish rectanglar blue shape means something Win 7 MBR NTFS cant represent - either FAT32 GPT 100MB efi sys partition, or other FAT32-16-12 partition. The 7.85GB is prob FAT32 recov partition, but why isnt it hidden? These damn 7.85GB (seem to be showing up more now for some reason).
Also, why would anyone name a drive "A" and there are two used data HDD Disk 2 and 3 that dont even show partitions. Even linux would show
This a a way beyond the normal, but would still like to see your dm with SRT (tonight)
