I host my website (www.juillards.com) with MyMarkDown.com. Yesterday, I wanted to login to my email via the webmail option that they provide, I just couldn't remember the site. So I went to mail.juillards.com and discovered an advertisement placed there by someone other than me. I have paid for and own the domain name as well as have paid for a year of hosting with MyMarkDown.com. However, I was never contacted regarding SSLCatacombnetworking.com placing an advertisement on my domain.

Has anyone else experienced this? Can anyone else share some insight as to why this could be happening? I will also post the responses I've received from the tech support from when I've inquired about this.

you are not suppose to go to "mail.juillards.com"

use the webmail url listed in your Activation Notice.

Still, mail.juillards.com should not be pointing at anything other than my domain. Please help me remove the advertisement from mail.juillards.com. Thank you!

that is not an advertisment.

mail goes to the ip address of the server.

the ip address of the server is 67.19.19.242.

go to 67.19.19.242.

that is the way it works.

nothing can change it.

if you want e-mail services, that is the way it must be.

Thanks for your continuation with this. I understand that webmail is to be accessed via www.domainname.com/webmail. However what I am not comfortable with is if someone would type in the address of mail.juillards.com in the URL field of a browser and the advertisement of SSLCatacombnetworking is displayed. Technically nothing should appear there just as when I type in the URL of silly.juillards.com or subdomain.juillards.com. I did not install anything or upload any html file for that subdomain of mail.juillards.com to appear, so nothing should appear. I am not comfortable with visitors to my website being shown an advertisement that I have not myself put up. I have not given authorization for my domain name to be used by SSLCatacombnetworking to list their website off of mine when any subdomain name is entered. That is the reason for paying for hosting and my own domain name. I am more than happy to use www.domainname.com/webmail to access my webmail. However I am not happy with another domain name piggybacking off of my purchased domain name and my purchased hosting without my permission. I would like the webpage/advertisment for SSLcatacombnetworking removed from the subdomain mail.juillards.com please.

> advertisement of SSLCatacombnetworking is displayed.

We have nothing to add to this issue that hasn't ready been mentioned.

Again...

1. mail. is not an advertisement

2. mail. resolves to ip address of the server is 67.19.19.242.

3. 67.19.19.242 is the server that controls e-mail.

This is just the way it works.

It cannot be changed.

It will not be changed.

Technical support only handles problems with the server not functioning correctly. All servers are up and are functioning correctly. Your issue is not a support issue.

> Technically nothing should appear there

No. What shows up is what should show up.

> URL of silly.juillards.com or subdomain.juillards.com.

Those have nothing to do with the e-mail system. Again, if you want e-mail services, that is what you are going to see when you type that in a web browser.

> I did not install anything or upload any html file

That is the way the mail services work.

> I am not comfortable with visitors
> to my website being shown an advertisement

It is not an Ad.

> I would like the webpage/advertisment for SSLcatacombnetworking
> removed from the subdomain mail.juillards.com please.

1. It is not an add.

2. The answer to your request is No.

3. That is the way e-mail services work.

Thanks JasonCoder, I appreciate the kind words. I wish I could say that this post was about getting traffic to my site, however it's not. I'm pretty frustrated with the customer service they have provided and am curious if anyone else has experienced this with MyMarkDown.com, SSLCatacombnetworking.com or a similar issue.

new host, have free atot web host thread hook you up...

while mail.domain.xxx resolving to mail server is typical, but he is being an arse...and usually what should show up is the apache successfully installed page.

Definitely take pepsi's advice: find a new host pronto. Even budget hosts provide better service than what it looks like you are getting. I've used webhost4life for awhile and had great service. You may try the free hosting thread as well.
