So the live365 guy reminded me it is getting close to christmas and I need to get some xmas music. Any suggestions.

I am thinking:

Little Drummer Boy
Old Saint Nick
Silent Night

Please no church songs unless they are common ones like Silent Night and etc...

Well, eliminating any religous-type music is a bit limiting as far as Christmas music goes...

but "Mannheim Steamroller" and "Trans-Siberian Orchestra" have both put out several good albums. Check them out.

I didn't say any religious ones, I want the common ones. I just don't want the odd ones they play at church sometimes at xmas that aren't really christmassy.

You know personally, I like a lot of the Rock Christmas songs....like:

Springsteen - Santa Claus is coming to town
John Mellencamp - I saw mommy kissing santa claus
Kinks - Father Christmas
Elton John - Step into christmas
John Lennon - Happy XMAS war is over...

I can't remember anymore, I have a bunch at home. If you'd like the list, send me a
message.

My all time favorite is the light jazz of Vince Guaraldi (AKA, A Charlie Brown Christmas)I'd kill to be able to play piano like he does. So relaxing and smooth.

Just looking through our Christmas folder on the MP3 server at work:

-If you want something symphonic the Boston Pops has an album that's really good.
-Elvis and Sinatra have some good stuff.
-Bing Crosby had an album that is THE all time Christmas classic.

St. Patrick's Day - John Mayer

I'll let you decide if it's Christmas music or not, but I like it. :)

Live365 guy here. If you click on some of the other Christmas stations on Live365, some of them have websites that lists their play lists. I still need to create mine. But that should give you a great resource for song ideas.

My favorite Christmas songs are:

Religious:

Oh Holy Night
It Came Upon a Midnight Clear
We Three Kings
Little Town of Bethlehem

Secular:

Christmas Time is Here
Let It Snow
The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting...)
Silver Bells
Carol of the Bells

Good stuff!

Did you find the Christmas music you were looking for? Anyone else getting the Christmas music bug yet? Only 56 days till Christmas! I think most people wait till the day after Thanksgiving, but I love Christmas too much to limit myself to enjoying it just 26 days of the year. As I get older, the weeks fly by, and 26 days would be gone before I knew it. Check out my station below for some great Christmas music in streaming broadband. I run it as a hobby, and make no money whatsoever from it. In fact, I pay to run it.

"Kidnap the Santy Claws" from Nightmare Before Christmas (whatever the real title is :) )
Jill Sobule's version of "Merry Christmas from the Family"
Pretenders - "2000 Miles"

For instrumentals I usually just put on some Celtic like Joemy Wilson's Turlough O'Carolan CDs.
