Hello all!!!!! guess whos back, back again.....
anyhow.
My dad uses Premiere on his Sandy 2600k @ 4.2 and 1600Mhz 8GB Gigabyte Z68 micro board. He has a SSD but its a pos one that has slowed down and lost life percentage went down to 97 , anyhow that's not important. Prior to getting system my dad said what are we going to do about video card, I read you need a 800 dollar card to use Premiere.
I said no dad, you can buy a fast gaming card and that should be enough for Premiere.
Turns out Adobe Premiere is using the CPU on my dads rig and not the video cards OpenGL . The way you know is if there is a yellow line when you work its using your GPU, if theres a red line its using your CPU.
So his is using his CPU which is creating a bottleneck.
What is a good workstation card for him ?
I want to stick with NVidia for him, then maybe we can sell his 560 Ti or something......
I know there are FireGL or other cards like 2 grand. I don't want that. Something that is 600 to 800,,, range. Thanks a lot guys for reading and helping me help my old man. Hes 70 but ticking strong. I love him.
